Chapter_81
A service staff member walking through the corridor froze in fear when she saw Weston’s sudden, violent movement. She quickly plastered herself against the wall, not daring to breathe or move. Weston didn’t even acknowledge her presence as he stormed outside with quick, heavy steps. He tugged at his collar, but even in the fresh night air, he still felt suffocated.
The moment he left, the people in the private room felt free to speak their minds, though they did so cautiously.
“I was so frightened just now. I’ve never seen Mr. Ford act so terrifyingly before…” one person muttered.
“Having known him for so many years, who would’ve thought someone would have the guts to offend Weston Ford, the man who everyone bows to in Ahn City?”
Weston was like a sleeping lion, a natural king of the jungle, watching from his lofty position as all the smaller, insignificant creatures below fought amongst themselves. Someone like him never lost his temper, not because he was a calm man, but because no one ever dared to provoke him.
The group exchanged uneasy glances, wondering about the woman who had just left in such a hurry. Their confusion only deepened.
Meanwhile, Stella could hardly stand on her own. Justin had to support her as he tried to hail a car. He had planned to use the excuse of joining a drinking session to explain their chance meeting, but it seemed unnecessary. Before he could even speak, a black car pulled up in front of them.
Just as Justin was about to help Stella into the car, a massive force yanked him backward. Before he could react, a fist collided with his face. The blow was so powerful that it sent him stumbling several steps back, his vision blurring. Searing pain shot through his face, and his nose felt like it had been shattered.
Dizzy and disoriented, he instinctively released his grip on Stella, causing her to fall to the side. In that instant, Weston appeared, his strong arms pulling Stella into his embrace.
With one arm holding her securely, Weston supported the back of her head, resting it against his shoulder. Her hot, uneven breath against him only fueled his fury. He glared at Justin, his voice icy with menace, “Do you have a death wish? How dare you touch her?”
Justin, still reeling from the pain and dizziness, barely registered the threat before he recognized the voice. The familiar tone sent a wave of shock through him.
The moment he looked up into Weston’s eyes, he stammered, “It’s you?”
Justin, a university professor and a familiar figure in the business world, was no stranger to Weston Ford’s name. He knew Weston was a powerful figure, but he had never imagined that Weston and Stella were connected.
Seeing Weston pull Stella into his arms so forcefully caused Justin’s pupils to widen in disbelief. “Who is Ella to you?”
“None of your business,” Weston growled, lifting Stella into his arms and turning to leave.
Driven by some impulsive instinct, Justin stood up, blood trickling from the corner of his lips. “Mr. Ford, I have no idea what your relationship with Ella is, but isn’t it inappropriate for you to just take her away like this?” He wiped his mouth, still glaring. “Shouldn’t you at least ask Ella if she wants to leave with you?”
Weston paused in his tracks and turned to face Justin. His eyes were cold, his tone even icier. “Even if she doesn’t want to leave with me, do you think she would want to leave with you?”
Justin, undeterred, met his gaze unflinchingly. “Mr. Ford, you’re a man with a family. Everyone knows you’re married to Ms. Cohen, and you have a child together. I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but if you think you can just take something new and fresh, you’re mistaken. Ella is not like other women in the industry. She can’t afford to get involved with someone like you, so for her sake, show some mercy and let her go.”
“Show mercy?” Weston’s lips curled in a dark smile, clearly amused. “Who are you to her? What right do you have to speak to me like that?”
