Chapter_176
Weston stood right in the middle of the crowd, standing out like a rose among thorns.
The entertainment industry placed influence and power above all else, and as soon as Weston entered, the atmosphere shifted. People who had been expressionless or bored moments ago now buzzed around him, eager to flatter and please.
Stella’s eyes couldn’t help but follow him. Dressed in a black trench coat, he exuded an air of confidence that made him impossible to ignore. His broad shoulders tapered down to a lean waist, his physique commanding attention. Even the male celebrities on set paled in comparison.
Weston embodied the ideal of masculine beauty, the kind that met the highest standards of the industry and made him one of the country’s finest men. His presence alone had the power to quiet the room, each of his movements a testament to the authority and influence he wielded.
Stella quickly turned her gaze away, but she still felt the weight of his piercing, heated stare on her.
Ruby, awestruck, tugged at Stella’s sleeve. “Ms. Steele, he’s so handsome!”
Stella remained silent, holding Ruby’s hand firmly. “Let’s just go home.”
“But I want to meet him!” Ruby bounced around excitedly. “He’s so good-looking! Is he a celebrity? Why haven’t I seen him before?”
Ruby’s father, a big name in both the entertainment and business world, knew Weston. Anyone paying attention to the news would have heard about him. But Ruby, still young, tended to follow the younger, more popular stars, often unaware of those like Weston. He rarely appeared in entertainment news, and when his name did surface alongside Guinevere’s, he’d make sure to have it removed.
It was no surprise that Ruby didn’t recognize him.
Stella crouched down and tried to distract Ruby. “How about we come back another time?”
She was eager to escape the scene and had no idea what Weston’s intentions were. She had assumed he would be angry when she got home, but she hadn’t expected him to come here, to this set, for her.
There were so many people around, surely he wouldn’t do anything drastic. And with Guinevere as the movie’s female lead, many on set would know her, including Weston. Surely he wouldn’t want her to find out.
But just as Stella’s thoughts spun in a million directions, she felt a shadow approaching her. The steady rhythm of his footsteps seemed to echo in her chest.
Every step he took made her more tense.
She never imagined that Weston would approach her here, in such a public space. Yet, the next moment, his low voice reached her ears.
“What are you doing crouching down here?”
Stella’s stomach lurched. Her fists clenched, and her face drained of color. She couldn’t bring herself to look at him, but Ruby, oblivious to Stella’s tension, hugged her neck and grinned. “Ms. Steele, I think he’s talking to you!”
Stella forced herself to focus, offering a weak smile. She stood up, doing her best to regain composure. “Mr. Ford, what are you doing here?”
She tried to sound calm and distant, but Weston’s narrowed eyes betrayed his displeasure. He chuckled softly but didn’t call her out on her act. “I just came to take a look.”
Everyone around him, keenly aware of his influence, stayed respectfully silent, making sure not to upset him in any way.
“Mr. Ford, this is the young actress who reported on set today. The other is her dance teacher,” someone from the side informed him.
Weston’s gaze flicked toward Stella before shifting away, his brows raised in mild surprise. “Is that so? Does that mean the crew’s in such dire need of actors that they had to drag a dance teacher in for an audition?”
