“Let’s go! We’re finally going to meet Austin in person. Charles said the movies didn’t do Austin’s charisma justice,” Skylar said, taking the box of cookies with satisfaction.
“Of course, the actor I like is charismatic! He’s got to be one of the finest men in real life!” Natalie responded, eyes sparkling with excitement.
The golf course staff had given the crew a spacious area to work with, and there were plenty of people bustling about. Naturally, a crowd of fans had gathered outside the set, hoping to catch a glimpse of Austin.
Charles, playing a villain in the movie, didn’t have much screen time, but his character was interesting. The director was well-known, and their previous work had been both commercially successful and critically acclaimed, earning several awards. Because of that, many celebrities were eager to make an appearance on set.
Charles had landed this golden opportunity after passing a rigorous audition.
“Charles is so handsome! Can you take a picture of us once he’s done filming? I’ll post it on Instagram when he gets famous,” Natalie asked, craning her neck to get a better look.
Though she didn’t spot Austin yet, she did catch a glimpse of Charles. However, Charles was too focused on his role to notice them.
“Let’s move over there. It’s too crowded here, and we can barely see anything,” Skylar said, trying to catch a better view of Charles. She had to stand on tiptoe just to see half of his face. It was clear the crowd was too thick to get a good look.
The two made their way through the crowd to a more secluded area. Finally, they spotted Austin, who would be working with Charles in the scene.
Some people were born to be actors. They could effortlessly transform into someone else, and it didn’t feel forced at all. Austin was one of those people. His presence was magnetic, and it was clear why he was so admired.
Skylar noted that Austin and Charles shared a similar charisma. It made her believe that Charles, too, had the potential to become a movie star one day. He definitely had the talent.
“Oh my God! He’s so hot! Austin’s a total hunk! How can he be this good-looking? I’m going to swoon. This feels like a dream come true. Oh, how I wish I could marry him!” Natalie exclaimed, her eyes practically sparkling with excitement.
Skylar couldn’t help but tease her. “I can see you drooling. Have you forgotten that you’re married?”
Natalie giggled. “You know what I mean! I’m just saying, I’m so excited to see him in person. But my heart belongs to Jeremy. This is just… a fangirl moment.”
Skylar laughed. “I get it, but you’re right—your heart’s already taken.”
Natalie smirked. “You know, I might not have a chance to marry him anymore, but you do! Skylar, take the opportunity to get his contact now that Charles is working with him. You could even ask him out! You’re as gorgeous as those movie stars.”
Skylar rolled her eyes playfully. “Sadly, I’m also a married woman. Guess that puts me out of the running too.”
Natalie refused to believe her. “Skylar, if you keep saying that, I might actually start believing you! You know I’ve noticed how tiny your social circle is.”
Skylar sighed and decided to play along. “Fine. You can take a look at the picture on our marriage certificate.”
Natalie raised an eyebrow. “Marriage certificate?”
Skylar pulled out her phone and scrolled through her photos, eventually finding the picture she’d taken of the certificate when she and Joe had gotten married. She had forgotten about it until that moment.
She handed the phone to Natalie. “Take a good look. I’m a married woman.”
Natalie’s eyes went wide as she examined the photo. “Oh, my. It’s the real deal! When did this happen? I don’t remember hearing anything about you and anyone other than Christopher… How did you get married so quickly?”
Her surprise was palpable, but her eyes went even wider when she saw the man standing next to Skylar in the photo.
“Hang on a second,” Natalie said, her voice filled with disbelief.
