Chapter 181
After thanking Alexander, Skylar made her way directly to the waiting area. Her expression turned cold as soon as she spotted Kenny and his brothers sitting on the couch.
Without hesitation, she reached for her phone and called security.
“The three individuals who just came up have nothing to do with me. They’re impostors. Please escort them out,” she instructed the security officer, her tone firm.
Hearing Skylar’s voice, Kenny, Peter, and Samuel stood up immediately.
“You’re still our sister, no matter how much you want to deny it. That’s the truth! Today, we’re extending an olive branch. Why won’t you accept it?” Samuel barked, his patience wearing thin.
Skylar’s audacity to call security on them left him seething. Peter’s face hardened. “Tell us what you want. We’ve come here today, so make your demands clear. Name your price, but we need to know who’s backing you.”
“In the past, we may have wronged you, but we won’t hurt you again. We’re siblings, and you’re our parents’ daughter. Even if we’ve had disagreements, it’s time to put an end to it. Come home, Skye,” Kenny urged gently, his voice soft but insistent.
Each brother had a different approach, but the underlying goal remained the same: they wanted Skylar to submit to them. The Williams family was full of opportunists, each one shrewdly calculating the right moment to make their move.
Skylar’s expression remained unmoved. “Check my birth certificate then. We’re not even related. Don’t embarrass yourselves. Leave now.”
Samuel’s face twisted in contempt. “So, this is about inheritance rights? Just admit it! Did you really have to stoop so low? Refusing to donate blood for Maisy and now targeting our family for inheritance? Skylar, you’re utterly disgusting,” he sneered, convinced that he had uncovered Skylar’s true motives.
Inheritance rights were highly coveted, especially by someone like Skylar. From their perspective, she was using any means necessary to secure what she felt entitled to. To them, her behavior was nothing short of despicable. Samuel felt an intense loathing for having Skylar as a sister, convinced that she would use any tactic to achieve her goals.
Kenny frowned, trying to make sense of the situation. “Was it really just about inheritance? Skye, didn’t Mom and Dad want to adopt you recently? You’d already be on the Williams family’s adoption papers if you hadn’t left home.”
Peter’s disdain was barely masked as he stepped forward. “Filing for adoption isn’t difficult. If you take a day off today, we can go and finalize it right now.” He spoke with an air of superiority, disgusted by the thought that his own sister might resort to such low tactics for inheritance rights.
Skylar’s patience finally snapped. “It seems like you guys can’t get the message, huh? Let me make it clear: fortunately, I’m not related to you. From now on, stay far away whenever you see me,” she said, her cold gaze meeting the approaching security guards.
Samuel and Peter’s expressions darkened with shock. “What?” they both exclaimed in unison.
Kenny’s face paled slightly, and he took a step forward, his voice laced with anxiety. “Even if we’re not legally related, we’re still siblings by blood. Can you really bear watching our family go bankrupt? Just tell us what’s on your mind. We’ll correct our mistakes and let you name your conditions.”
“Blood ties mean nothing,” Skylar sneered, her words cutting deep. They were too dense to understand simple facts.
As the head of security approached her, he asked, “Ms. Sullivan, are you sure you don’t know these individuals?”
Without hesitation, Skylar replied, her tone resolute, “Yes, please escort them out.”
